About Us
Peacock Fibres Ltd was founded in 1974, recycling wool and cotton for filling fibre at its Bradford mill. The popularity of our fillings grew and our first mail-order operation was set up in 1989. Many of our customers were bear makers and we began designing fillings specifically for bears. We manufacture and supply filling materials and long pile fabrics under the NobleCraft name (from the noble fibres of mohair and alpaca used in our ‘Noble Bear Hair’ fabrics).
Over the decades we have witnessed major changes in the textile industry. We recognised the need to produce higher quality and more specialised products. We have recently enjoyed growing success due to product development and quality improvements. We supply the widest range of filling materials in Europe as well as mohair, alpaca and Alcantara fabrics.
Peacock Fibres have also been processing aramid industrial fibres and developing innovative applications for waste streams since the 1980s. Our processing capabilties encompass sorting, scouring, precision cutting, chopping, blending, opening and carding. Our output provides raw material for automotive friction products, thermal insulation and flame retardant needlefelts.
We continue to innovate, with new products for new applications.
